A recent find added to my collection highlights the importance and ease of use of the Huntington Library's Maynard L. Parker Photography Archives and fabulous on-line database. Using Parker's May 6, 1945 cover of the Los Angeles Times Home Magazine of the John Garner House above as an example, one can simply click on the link below, click the "Search Database" menu button, then scroll to Garner under the Designer menu and we see that Parker took 25 photographs of the house in July 1942 and this was his Job No. 0355. The cover photo above was the only photo of the house from this job used in this issue. As far as I can determine, this was the only published image of this project. I could not find any other reference to John Garner or his work.
